Congratulations Elyse!

Congratulations to my good friend Elyse Healey on winning the title of Miss Mercer County. Elyse will now compete for the title of Miss Pennsylvania America. Elyse is a 23 year old vocalist and a former two time local title holder in Ohio where she was 3rd ru in 06 and top 10 in 07.

Unfortunately Miss Ohio and Miss Pennsylvania are on the same day so I will have to go to Miss PA prelims but I look forward to watching Elyse compete for the title!

Miss Central Ohio

This past weekend, I officially ended my reign as Miss Central Ohio 2008. I crowned my good friend Katie Camp. Katie will appreciate the support of the Miss Central Ohio program as she goes to Miss Ohio for the last time. It was a bittersweet moment as I put on my Miss America crown for the last time. Sad, knowing it was over but also happy to know that I competed in some of the "prime" Miss America years. Miss America is a ever-changing thing and I am glad that I got to see it in all its glory. Congratulations again to Katie!

A late Congrats

Miss Clayland

This weekend I traveled to the Miss Clayland Pageant, a preliminary to Miss Ohio America. One of my best friends Kristy Moneysmith was competeing and she was absolutely flawless. Kristy and I met my last year at Miss Ohio America and we have stayed close ever since. Kristy was named first runner up. Which ever local she represents is going to be very lucky.

A night of crownings

Congratulations to Ashley Warholic and Meggie Wittman for winning the first double crown pageant of the Ohio MAO season.

Also a big congratulations is in order for Miss Ohio Teen International, Jessica Byington as she captured the national title of Miss Teen International last night in Chicago, Illinois. She is the 3rd Teen Ohio to win the national title since 2004. Our Teens have a great record in that program. Here is a photo of Jessica with the newly crowned knock out, Miss International. Beautiful blondes....love it.

Okay, so I have yet to blog about Miss Ohio but Abby does such a great job...so why bother? See www.abbybollenbacher.blogspot.com for complete pageant results.

I want to first congratulate the new Miss Ohio, Erica Gelhaus. I am proud to call Erica a friend and hope to be able to cheer her on in Vegas. For the first time, when it came to the top 2 I was torn because I have close relationships with both girls. Both girls were stunning...literally. They are good people and look like Miss Ohios. Congrats to BOTH girls. I love you both.



Also, I want to congratulate my friend Katie Camp on a job well done. I believe she belonged in the T5...welcome to the world of dancers in Ohio.




Now onto my trio, Kristy and Victoria. I missed Miss Ohio because I missed competeing with them. They are awesome and radiated the stage. Can I just say Kristy was robbed of the ss preliminary? Yes, I aged out so I will say my true opinion. Prelim winners were obvious but not that one. They both made huge strides this year and I could not be prouder. Here are some photos of us!!!!







And finally....the production....not what I expected to say the least. Bad outfits, ill fitted and see-through. Put Maxwell and Johnny Porazzo on stage and leave it at that. I love Johnny...who doesn't? That is a man with remarkable talent and well... Maxwell just brought a whole new comedy element to the production. The camera work was the best part of the show, props to the video editor! However, a certain gentleman needs to step down. He also needs to not walk in on girls naked....DISGUSTING. Of course it was a mistake, right? GRRR, that behavior should keep that unamed man far away from future contestants. People should know about this incidient and when it happens to girls that I love, I will back them up because we all know future contestants always stay "PC" so it is up to MO supporters to speak up and loud.

Anyways, I did love seeing the wonderful chaperones and host moms. These women are the heartbeat of the program and so many of them are like moms to me. I enjoyed catching up with them and some former contestants.

Miss Ohio week begins

The Miss Ohio contestants leave tomorrow for Mansfield. I have some of my best friends competeing so I will be there every night supporting them. My good friend, Kristen Haas has my host house/mom so I know they will be in good hands. haha. This is my first time ever watching Miss Ohio...going to be wierd...can't lie. Anyways, can I take pictures? I think so. I will at least take solid notes to share. So be checking my blog for Miss Ohio updates.

Meredith and I in California

So sorry for the lack of blogging. However, I have had nothing to blog about at all until now.

I did go to visit former MAO and MOU competitor Meredith Driscoll in Los Angeles. We ate our way through the cupcake spots in LA.(I have to check out my competition). Here are some pictures from our trip!

Okay....so most people know I am a Food Network junkie and obsessed with Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives so cooking with and then getting to eat a meal prepared by a Food Network star was AWESOME and delicious! However, I can't post these pictures without letting my boyfriend Chris take the credit! Thanks to Chris, I got to party with Guy! Poor Chris was out of town on business :(
